Building our squad from the ground up

No Players Yet, By Design

We start with zero players. Borneo Rovers FC is built backwards. First community, then squad.

This approach lets us build the right culture and systems before bringing players in. When we do start recruiting, we'll have a community ready to support them.

Highlight Submission Pipeline

1

Online highlight submissions open

Players send clips, basic stats, location. Open to everyone across Malaysia.

2

Community shortlisting

Community helps rate and shortlist interesting players. Token holders participate in voting.

3

Trial days and friendly matches

When we are ready operationally, we host small trial days and friendlies.

4

First official Borneo Rovers FC squad

Select players for our squad and begin training for amateur league entry.

Our Playing Style

We're inspired by high-press, high-intensity football. Think Liverpool's gegenpressing but adapted for Malaysian amateur football.

Work rate over individual brilliance

We value players who run, press, and fight for every ball.

Team cohesion over star players

No egos. Everyone works for the team.

Tactical discipline over chaos

We play with a system and stick to it.

Continuous improvement over perfection

We get better every week. Mistakes are learning opportunities.

Geographic Diversity

We want players from every state in Malaysia. Sabah, Sarawak, Kelantan, Perlis - everyone is welcome.

Traditional scouting networks miss talented players from smaller towns. Our digital-first approach removes those barriers.
